The Kumulipo

The Kumulipo is a genealogical chant of more than two thousand lines that traces the origin of the world from darkness through the birth of plants, animals and people, linking a chiefly line to that creation.

King Kalākaua had the chant printed in 1889, and Queen Liliʻuokalani published an English translation in 1897.
